Flood protection of Mosul and all the Tigris downstream and power production need

Objective

Badush Dam was originally planned and partially constructed across Tigris River downstream of the existing Mosul Dam to mitigate a catastrophic flood in the event that Mosul Dam failed and, as a secondary purpose, to produce hydroelectricity. The project is designed at a first stage layout, ready for a second stage required to stand Mosul dam break
