Description
Needs
Detailed Inspection and Evaluation for all the Structures and Hydro-Mechanical and Electrical Equipment by qualified consultants is required In order to define the required maintenance and /or replacement and improvement works since the Structure is Completed in 1939 and many parts of the concrete is deteriorated. A new bathymetry survey is required for the Canal reaches upstream and downstream the Regulator to evaluate the sediment accumulation within the upstream reach and the scour if any within the downstream reach , this will define the required dredging , cleaning and/ or required new protection works .
Objective
The Regulator controls the water discharges diverted to Dujaila Main Canal from the right bank of Tigris upstream Kut Barrage It is considered one of the most important structures within Tigris river Basin providing irrigation waters for (369000 dounums) in Dujaila project , which was established in 1940 ,
