Marshes and Natural Depressions

Description

Marshes and Natural Depressions serve as a disposal places for drainage water of some irrigation project. This section is serving the Abu-Bshout (estimated discharge 2.4 m^3/s) and the west part of the Amarah Irrigation Projects (estimated discharge 20 m^3/s). Drainage water is discharged into Central Marshes in Missan and Thi-Qar governorates.

Needs

There is an opportunity to expand the use of the marshes to fisheries. Operation and Mantainance is required.
