Description
Needs
Detailed Inspection and Evaluation for all the Structures and hydro-mechanical and electrical equipment by qualified consultants is required. In order to define the required maintenance and /or replacement and any other improvement works. A new bathymetry survey is required for Both Channels reaches upstream and downstream the Regulators to evaluate the sediment accumulation within the upstream reach and the scour if any within the downstream reach , this will define the required dredging, cleaning and / or improvement of protection works
Objective
The Dividing Regulator and Tigris Branch Channel were constructed to divide the flow of Tharthar Euphrates Channel as 600 m3/s to Tigris River and 500 m3/s to Euphrates for irrigation purposes and for improving the quality of the stored water in the lake, As a part of the Country’s Water Resources Management.
